A morning among the plants at Queen Mary Falls
Last weekend, 15 members and friends met at Queen Mary Falls for a Bushcare plant identification walk.
One lesson of the morning was how to tell lomandra species apart. It turns out the shape of the leaf tip is the giveaway. Lomandras are easy to walk past, so it was satisfying to leave knowing how to separate them.
We also found some beautiful pink rock orchids growing on the rocks, and a stunning libertia paniculata in flower. Both stopped the group in its tracks.
Afterwards we headed to the cafe for lunch and swapped notes on what we had seen.
Thank you to everyone who came!
